Calories Bread Roll

As ever it is vital that you know the calorie content of things you eat, and especially so for foods that you eat regularly. Which is why we are starting to list the calorie content of certain foods – so that you can understand what it is that you are putting into your body to help you make more informed decisions.calories in bread rolls

So this time we are looking at teh calories in a bread roll. When it comes to bread rolls it is of course not just calories you should be looking into, you should also look at sugar content, whether it fits in with the amount of carbs you want to be eating etc, etc. But as ever with any weight loss effort calorie counting is important.

Obviously the calories bread roll will contain vary form roll to roll, depending on how it is made, but to give you a general guide:

40g White Bread Roll Calories: 110
40g Brown Bread Roll Calories: 104
40g Wholemeal Bread Roll Calories: 104

Other facts: On average 70% of the calories come from carbohydrates and 18% come from fat. Bread is, for obvious reasons, very low in protein. So those who are considering going for a low carb high protein diet should skip bread rolls entirely. But they can be used for anyone who is looking to include them as part of a balanced diet. For those who do so wholemeal bread rolls are the best as they contain all the goodness of the grain and also tend to have less sugar or salt (but remember it does vary form roll to roll so you should check the packaging of the rolls).
