How to Slim Down Legs

A slim set of ‘pins’ is something that many women would like to achieve, lowering mass and fat whilst toning up the muscle – without creating muscular male legs. The good news is that with the right exercises it is actually very easy to slim down legs.

What exercises can help in a quest to find how to slim down legs?slim legs

  • Run up hill.  Running works the legs anyway, but running up hill increases the amount of work done by the legs, especially in the thigh area – the area prone to getting cellulite.  By running uphill you slim the legs and reduce the chances of cellulite.
  • Lunges.  A perfect exercise for those wanting slim legs.  Stand upright, feel together and then take one large step forward with one foot whilst leaving the other in the same place on the floor.  The large step should bring you down towards the ground with your forward leg bent at right angles to the floor.  The difficulty of this leg slimming exercise can be increased by holding hand weights,
  • Step Aerobics.  Repeated stepping up onto a step, box etc works the thigh muscles very well – again producing dramatic leg slimming results.  The speed you step, the height you step and again weights can all be used to increase how much you slim down legs.
  • Swimming.  A great workout (check out how many calories burned by swimming) that can be tailored specifically to the legs.  When swimming use a float held out in front of you in both hands and only use your legs to power you forward.  The constant kicking required to make progress is a massive work out for your legs.
  • Squats.  If you use low eights and a high number of repetitions then weight lifting via squats can actually slim down the leg rather than build muscle – it is certainly great for toning and fat burning.
